What is an affiliate link? An affiliate link is a link on a website that sends you to a product (typically a listing on Amazon.com) or service, and if you buy it, I get a tiny commission and it does not impact your price at all. It’s a great way, and now the ONLY way, to support this site.
Examples and real-life numbers:
I have posted links to cameras I’ve used and recommend for several years now. After so many years, ONE person bought one and I got $40. That’s over 2 years of work and only $40. Yikes, I never said I did this for the money ;-).
Another example, I’ve made some low-dollar sales this year (mainly guidebooks) and I received a commission on those items. “How much?” you ask. A whopping $4.71 for 3 months of writing articles! I’m so close to retirement I can taste it.
As you can see, I’m not getting rich and I’m not selling out to the corporate overlords just yet. I would of course love and appreciate it if you used my links so I can continue to make content that you may find interesting.
Of course I only recommend things I use or have used. Folks would figure it out quickly if I was recommending junk.
There are affiliate links all over this site and they help me (in small ways now) to earn money to continue these efforts.
Message me or comment below if you have any questions about the products I recommend.
