Things have been relatively quiet around here. No videos, very few blog posts, and I’m not as active on Instagram or Twitter as I used to be. What’s going on? Am I being lazy or dropped the ball? Perhaps lost interest? Nope! I’ve got big things planned for 2017! Here’s a rundown for the first part of the year.
There are a lot of travel blogs and shows dedicated to international travel. You don’t have to go abroad for adventure or to experience a new culture. It can be national like Kentucky, regional like Portland for me, or even local.
The photo on the left was taken in Louisville, but it shares something in common with Portland. Both are cities of bridges, have incredible food, and possess two very different cultures compared to the rest of the United States.
I’ve sat on this for far too long. Ashley and I visited Kentucky last year and fell in love. We visited Lexington, Louisville, and the Bourbon Trail. We were blown away by the friendliness of the people, the incredible music, horse country, and bourbon. Oh my goodness, the bourbon. I’ll be publishing a few YouTube videos on the area and articles about The Bourbon Trail, the Lincoln Scenic Byway, the food, and culture.
I’m really excited about this one because it’s a trip Ashley and I still talk about to this day. We miss it greatly. If you’ve never been, I’m hoping to encourage you to stop by and enjoy everything it has to offer.
Outside the Cube is about more than travel. This piece could also be called “How to Plan a Date Weekend” for your spouse or significant other. I surprised Ashley with a trip to Portland to see one of her favorite musicians, Justin Townes Earl. It was a weekend filled with Ashley’s favorite things: brunch, Bloody Marys, and shopping. She was in Heaven!
I’ll create a few more posts about what’s coming to The Cube in 2017. Please visit my YouTube channel today and click Subscribe to be notified as soon as the videos are published. You can also Like my Facebook page to get the latest updates.
