Weekends start to look the same after a while. We make the same trips to the same restaurants and nightlife options again and again. We do this because we love them or maybe they check the box for convenience. Ashley and I head to the same neighborhood Mexican restaurant and a drink at our go-to watering hole every Friday like clockwork. For us, it’s our way of separating our work week from the weekend. We do love from trying new things, but inevitably are drawn back to our routine.
Yet, this weekend was a bit different. We received an invite to attend the “Havana Nights” event. We figured it was a great opportunity to mix things up a bit and we’re so glad we did.
A Taste of Havana in Seattle
You notice the antique cars lining the street as you arrive at the venue calling to mind images of Cuba’s capital city. It is one of many touches, both small and large, the organizers did to add a little authenticity to the evening.
You can’t go to a themed party and not wear some kind of outfit or costume. Fellow guests were decked to the nines and were truly dressed to impress. Costumes aren’t really my thing, so Ashley picked up this pineapple shirt and hat on my behalf.
